Thank you in advance for answering my stupid questions...

1) Is yaks bend, lions arch, in PvE? I have looked at the flash map on this site and i dont see it anywhere.
2) What is ascension?? and is it a pVe thing or PvP thing???

Yak's Bend is an outpost in the Northern Shiverpeaks. About the middle of the map, on the Ascalon side of the Mountains.
Lion's Arch is the next major city after Ascalon. It's south of Yak's bend on the other side of the Mountains from Ascalon.

Ascension is part of the PvE storyline. You complete a series of missions and fight your Doppleganger. A quick Search for Ascension will give lots of information on it.

Yes, Lions Arch can be seen from the zoomed out map because it is a large gold dot in about the center of your map. Yaks bend cannot be seen zoomed out, but if you zoom in to about where the brown of ascalon turns into the bluey-white of the shiverpeaks you will probably see it.

The trick to locating Yak's Bend is to visit the Arena there. That will put the red arena dot on your map. Yaks is really easy to find then.

If you are following the storyline you should get to Yak's Bend after Nolani Academy, and Lions Arch (LA) after Gates of Kryta which is the first Mission outpost in Kryta. You will have to acend when you get to the desert area in order to continue the storyline. It will be quite a while before you get there. PvE = Player vs. Everything PvP = Player vs. Player
